On current issues of procedural costs

The Interdepartmental Research Institute of the Law Enforcement Academy presented the monograph “Procedural costs before judicial investigation in the Republic of Kazakhstan” to the reader.

As the authors note, saving financial resources is of particular importance in the context of the global crisis. Based on this, the relevance of the study is due to the fact that criminal procedural activities are often associated with significant material costs.

To date, the lawmaker considers the expenses related to the criminal proceedings to be procedural expenses. In addition, there are legislative gaps in the calculation of certain types of costs (drive, search), not all costs are included in the costs of the case.

As part of the research, scientists conducted a comprehensive analysis of procedural costs, studied law enforcement practice over the past seven years.

Based on the results of scientific work, a Method for calculating certain types of procedural costs has been developed, its concept has been formulated, and proposals for improving the criminal procedure legislation have been developed.

The monograph is intended for a wide range of readers: students, undergraduates and doctoral students of law schools, as well as teachers, researchers, practitioners and anyone interested in criminal proceedings.

The book can be purchased at the law enforcement Academy. The content of the monograph in electronic format is available here.
