The Prosecutor’s Office of the Kostanay Region hosted a meeting of the Coordinating Council on Ensuring the Rule of Law, Law and Order and Combating Crime with the participation of heads of law enforcement agencies in the region, as well as representatives of the Interdepartmental Research Institute of the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies.
At the meeting of the Institute, the Academy presented the first results of a joint project with the regional prosecutor’s office “Prevention of crime through criminological forecasting”.
A new methodology for analysing the results of the examination of applications and reports of incidents was presented to the attention of the participants. It was named after the name of its author – the “Schotkin scale”.
The conducted research allowed to identify negative trends in the development of the criminal situation in the region, the accompanying shortcomings in the registration and registration discipline, the practice of applying the institution of termination of cases for reconciliation of the parties, and the work of probation bodies.
The presented results will allow to define the main directions of supervisory activities, in general to improve the quality of crime prevention.
