The first international simulation training “Combating human trafficking on migration routes” launched with the support of the OSCE General Office has started in Astana.
The event, based on the Regional Hub for Combating Global Threats at the Law Enforcement Academy, is attended by law enforcement officials, non-governmental organizations and the social sphere of the CIS and Central Asia.
The starting training was the result of the implementation of a large-scale project of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Kazakhstan and the OSCE to create a simulation center on the basis of the Hub to combat human trafficking.
Kazakhstan has become the second country in the world where they use the simulator to learn skills to counter the global threats of our time. A similar project is being successfully implemented in Italy in the training of police officers.
The uniqueness of the training technique is that it takes place in conditions as close as possible to reality. By modeling specific cases of human trafficking, students learn to identify victims of crime, provide assistance to victims, identify persons involved in illegal traffic, conduct an investigation and interact with each other.
The training format develops in a specialist the ability to navigate in a difficult situation, to use effective tools for solving crimes, to make competent professional decisions.
About 150 people take part in the training as participants and experts, including 76 representatives from 19 countries of the near and far abroad, including the USA, Germany, Georgia, Israel, Russia, etc.
