Young scientists of the Law Enforcement Academy and Eurasian National University named after L. Gumilyov organized a round table “Terrorism and extremism as a threat to national security.”
The forum was attended by scientists from two universities, postgraduates and doctoral students of the Academy, experts from other educational institutions.
Opening the meeting, the Dean of the Law Faculty of the ENU, Saule Amandykova, noted the particular relevance of the agenda in the context of strengthening the fight against threats and challenges of the modern world, the need to develop an effective anti-terrorism strategy.
As part of the event, a professional dialogue took place on topical issues of countering terrorism and extremism, improving forms and methods of combating radical manifestations.
In particular, they discussed the causes and conditions that give rise to extremism, the threats posed by destructive movements, and the problems associated with the spread of extremist ideas.
Important topics were the international experience in the fight against terrorism, the financing of extremism and terrorism, as well as the feature of female terrorism.
