Workshop on Topical Internet Security Issues

A seminar on cyber security on the Internet was held at the Law Enforcement Academy for prosecutors, organized with the support of the representative office of the Conrad Adenauer Foundation in Kazakhstan.

The event was opened by the director of the Institute for Professional Development Magomed Akayev. Noting the relevance of the topic of the seminar in the face of growing cyber threats, he emphasized: “The rapid development of technology requires new mechanisms for controlling the information environment, which has become a powerful tool for various types of crimes. Therefore, the task of law enforcement agencies is to be one step ahead: to constantly study new methods of investigation, apply the best international experience, working with colleagues from other countries”

The head of the Representative Office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Kazakhstan, Thomas Helm, noted the need to consolidate efforts in the fight against cybercrime, and to improve the skills of specialists investigating crimes.

During the training, topical issues of ensuring information security and increasing the effectiveness of the fight against crime in the field of high technologies were discussed.

Particular emphasis is placed on the study and borrowing of international best practices. Expert Anne Catherine Riedel from Germany shared her experience in detecting and investigating computer crimes.

Students learned new progressive practices, effective ways and methods of detecting and combating crimes through the Internet.
