The Kazakhstanis made a worthy contribution to the victory. Shoulder to shoulder, our fellow countrymen valiantly fought with the enemy.
The legendary names of brave heroes will never be forgotten in the memory of the people. Their military feat is forever inscribed in the annals of glory of our Motherland.
One of them is a native of the village of Taitobe (near Kosshy) Rakhymzhan Koshkarbaev. On April 30, 1945, the valiant son of the Kazakh people, who was then only 21 years old, together with a Russian, 19-year-old corporal Grigory Bulatov, erected a battle flag over the Reichstag under heavy enemy fire.
Also within the framework of the event, the winners of the essay competition on the theme “They Fought for the Motherland” were awarded.
The participants of the event laid flowers at the Obelisk of Glory, honored the memory of the fallen with a moment of silence.
