Rector of the Law Enforcement Academy Yergali Merzadinov met with the Director of the Institute of Justice of the Republic of Korea Cho Yn Sok.
Welcoming the guest, the head of the Academy noted the high level of legal cooperation between the competent authorities of Kazakhstan and Korea in the criminal law sphere. Currently, the two countries have concluded a full package of agreements related to the provision of legal assistance in criminal matters, extradition and transfer of convicts.
According to Cho Yn Sok, the Institute of Justice is an integrated educational and research organization that prepares and trains public servants subordinate to the Ministry of Justice. The staff of the Prosecutor General’s Office, criminal correctional institutions and immigration improve their qualifications.
Noting the common goals and objectives facing the two educational institutions, the interlocutors discussed the prospects of cooperation in the framework of training and advanced training of law enforcement officials.
E. Merzadinov expressed interest in studying the work experience of Korean colleagues and conducting a series of training sessions for law enforcement officers of Kazakhstan at the Institute of Justice.
The meeting, as recognized by the parties, should serve as an important impetus for a deeper and more fruitful interaction, constructive development of the existing dialogue.
