The meeting of the acting Rector of the Academy, Maralbek Yeshimov, with the Director of the Office for International Drug Control and Law Enforcement (INL), US State Department Erin Sawyer was held.
Erin Sawyer leads the INL programs on the prevention and suppression of drug trafficking, implemented in the Eurasian region.
M. Yeshimov expressed satisfaction with the existing bilateral cooperation and the interest of the American side in the activities of the Academy. The US Embassy in Kazakhstan is an important partner of the university, in close cooperation with which fruitful work was carried out, he stressed.
In turn, E. Sawyer thanked for the high level of interaction in the implementation of joint activities.
During the meeting, a constructive conversation and exchange of views on the prospects for further cooperation took place.
In particular, the parties emphasized the particular relevance of combining efforts to ensure national and international security, combating financial crime, drug crime, human trafficking, terrorism, and ensuring cyber security.
One of the important areas of joint work is the interaction within the framework of advanced training of law enforcement officers of Kazakhstan, the organization of study tours and trainings on pressing problems of combating transnational crime.
It was also agreed to establish a center for combating cyber crime on the basis of the Regional Hub.
The parties expressed high interest in the further development and strengthening of partnerships.
