Meeting of the Scientific and methodological Council

A regular meeting of the Scientific and methodological Council of the Law Enforcement Academy was held. The meeting was held with the participation of the academic community, as well as representatives of the Prosecutor General’s office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Finance, Anti-corruption Agency.

The participants of the meeting discussed the interim results of interdepartmental research work, as well as prospects for the development of science in law enforcement.

Opening the meeting, the Chairman of the Council — rector of the Academy Yergali Merzadinov noted the importance of strengthening the role of departmental science in ensuring the rule of law and combating crime. “Scientific and analytical support of law enforcement practice is an important condition for improving the efficiency of law enforcement agencies,” he stressed.

Preliminary results of interdepartmental scientific research were presented to the members of the SMC for consideration:

— “Issues of strengthening the protection of the rights of entrepreneurs and their legitimate interests»;

— “Formation of science-based legal approaches to the definition of “privacy»;

— “Development of scientific and legal approaches to clarify the concepts and differentiation of criminal offenses, criminal offenses and administrative offenses, based on the degree of their social danger and other criteria»;

— “Method of calculation of procedural costs of pre-trial investigation»;

— “Criminal prosecution: separation of powers of the pre-trial investigation bodies and the Prosecutor»;

— “Combating illicit trafficking in drugs, psychotropic substances, its analogues, precursors distributed through Internet resources and mobile applications”.

Analyzing the results of the work, the members of the Council noted the relevance of scientific research, the need to implement the results in the normative, law enforcement and educational spheres.

As a result of the discussion, it was recommended to continue scientific and analytical work, to intensify interdepartmental cooperation in the framework of further improvement of research activities.
