On 21 September 2026 the Astana City Prosecutor’s Office hosted a meeting to review the results of a three-day training seminar on “Managing regional systems for the prevention of offences: inter-agency cooperation and coordination”, organised by the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies with the support of the OSCE Programme Office in Astana.
The meeting was attended by Gabit Mukanov, Prosecutor of the city of Astana, Nurgalym Abdirov, Rector of the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies, and the heads and representatives of the main prevention bodies of Astana.
The meeting reviewed the results of the three-day training, during which participants strengthened their professional competencies in inter-agency cooperation, coordination and project management, and jointly developed specific measures to improve the prevention of offences among minors.
The practical outcome of the training seminar was a practice-oriented project, “Zan men tartip – Adal azamat zholy” (Law and Order – the Path of an Honest Citizen), developed by the participants with methodological support from the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies and from Elmira Khisamutdinova, consultant of the OSCE Programme Office in Astana. The project is aimed primarily at measures to eliminate the causes and conditions that contribute to offences committed against minors. Its implementation is intended to ensure coordinated work by the prevention bodies, to strengthen inter-agency cooperation and to assess the effectiveness of the measures taken on the basis of measurable indicators.
Following the meeting, the project “Zan men tartip – Adal azamat zholy” was approved and recommended for adoption by the Coordinating Council of Law Enforcement Agencies for the Prevention of Offences of the Astana City Prosecutor’s Office.
