The Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies brought together young researchers to discuss topical issues in legal scholarship, current research challenges and the prospects for professional cooperation.
The meeting took the form of a round table of the Councils of Young Scientists, held with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It was attended by representatives of the Councils of Young Scientists, research organisations and universities, including Gaukhar Almas, Deputy Chair of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Participants examined the current challenges facing young researchers, promising areas for inter-agency and inter-university cooperation, and mechanisms for supporting research initiatives.
The practical aspects of developing innovation were covered in a presentation by Aliya Sembayeva, Adviser to the Director General of the Astana Hub corporate foundation, entitled “The talent economy: from talent to unicorn”. Participants also discussed opportunities for grant support and the commercialisation of research results.
Particular attention was given to the professional and academic development of young researchers. Kaisar Yerkinbayev, Deputy Chair of the Management Board of the Bolashak Centre for International Programmes JSC, spoke about the opportunities offered by the Bolashak programme and about research placements.
Following the round table, a final resolution was adopted setting out proposals and recommendations for the Science Committee, research organisations and the Councils of Young Scientists.
The meeting helped to strengthen professional ties, to share practical experience and to widen the opportunities for young researchers in Kazakhstan to realise their research potential.
