On 10 September 2026, the project office of the Department of General Legal Disciplines at the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies hosted a Coffee Talk meeting devoted to the first steps in academic research.
The experts were leading academics of the Academy: Indira Uralovna Aubakirova, Doctor of Legal Sciences; Almaz Shukirovich Yeshchanov, Doctor of Legal Sciences; and Nazarbek Sharuanovich Zhempiisov, Candidate of Legal Sciences. In an open dialogue, they explained how to choose a relevant problem, formulate a topic and chart a path from a research idea to a genuine academic result, and also went through the typical mistakes made by early-career authors.
The informal setting allowed students to approach the experts directly, discuss their own ideas and receive valuable practical advice, which will contribute to the effective development of a research culture at the Academy.
