On 26 June 2026, the Law Enforcement Academy under the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan held its latest graduation ceremony for students who had completed the initial professional training programme for service in the prosecution service.
Zhumagali Askhat, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan, attended the graduation ceremony. In congratulating the graduates, he emphasised that the young prosecutors would be expected to put the principle of «law and order» into practice by conscientiously performing their official duties and demonstrating a high level of professionalism and responsibility.
Upon completion of the training, 100 future prosecutors received certificates of completion of their initial professional training. Ten trainees were awarded a letter of commendation from Berik Asylov, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for their outstanding academic performance.
This year, the training programme was supplemented by two specialised courses on prosecutorial oversight in the areas of pre-trial investigation and the protection of public interests. Particular attention was paid to issues of prosecutorial oversight in cybercrime cases, as well as the application of artificial intelligence tools in the practical work of prosecutors.
Very soon, the graduates will begin carrying out their duties in the regional offices of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The knowledge and practical skills they have acquired will enable them to effectively uphold the rule of law, protect citizens’ rights and the interests of the state, and respond appropriately to contemporary challenges.
It should be noted that the institute for initial professional training has been operating in Kazakhstan since 2020 and is one of the key elements of the training system for the public prosecutor’s office. Its activities are aimed at developing a professional corps of prosecutors possessing the necessary competences and high ethical standards.
