In Istanbul, judges and prosecutors from Turkic countries continue to participate in the human rights program organized by the Turkic Judicial Training Network.
During the event, they study advanced international standards of justice. The training sessions covered a wide range of legal instruments, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).
The experts focused on the implementation of the right to life, personal freedom, and security, as well as the standards of fair trial and protection of freedom of expression. In this context, they discussed the principles enshrined in the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the practice of the European Court of Human Rights.
In parallel, the Academy’s Rector, Nurgalym Abdirov, held a meeting with Ali Erjan, Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), on the sidelines of the forum.
The parties reaffirmed the strong partnership between the Academy and TIKA, which has already resulted in joint educational and research projects. Rector Abdirov shared his vision of promising areas for further cooperation, including the training of specialists in cybercrime prevention and financial investigations.
TIKA expressed interest in the Kazakhstani side’s proposals and expressed their readiness to consider them further. The meeting provided a new impetus to the dialogue and confirmed the mutual interest in strengthening cooperation.
