“If you see a spring, clear its source” (“Bulaq ko’rseng – ko’zin ash”), says a Kazakh proverb. This wisdom holds a deep meaning—it’s about helping young people unleash their talents and pave the way for creative success, just as pure water breaks through from a spring.
Supporting initiatives that benefit society and the country as a whole is especially important in this process.
For this reason, the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies initiated a children’s drawing contest in Astana this summer titled, “30 Years of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan: What I Know About My Rights and Responsibilities.”
The event was organized in partnership with the Astana Children’s Art School – UNESCO Club, the Capital City Education Department, and the OSCE Programme Office in Astana. Its main goal was to improve legal literacy and develop a constitutional legal awareness among children and teenagers.
The young participants expressed their knowledge and ideas about rights and responsibilities through the language of visual art. Their works reflected the values protected by the Constitution: the right to life and health protection, care for nature and the environment, and the pursuit of peace and justice.
The award ceremony took place on August 29, 2025, where the winners of the contest received commemorative gifts.
The jury awarded the prizes as follows:
- 1st Place: Amandyk Amina, Madysheva Zhanel, Kairzhanova Asel, Yesetova Aruana
- 2nd Place: Tyuleneva Sofia, Bulatova Alua, Dzheksembayev Aliakbar, Sabyrova Jamilya, Bakhtiyarova Aisha, Amandyk Ahmet, Kairbekova Zhaniya
- 3rd Place: Gulieva Dayana, Khamzina Tomiris, Token Aruzhan, Kuzenbayeva Saida, Mailubai Zhansezim, Baltabay Amina, Zharaspayeva Tomiris, Kanat Zhanayat, Oralbekova Zhasmin
