Academy Opens International Seminar on Countering Online Drug Trafficking

On July 21, 2025, the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan launched a four-day international training seminar on countering online trafficking of synthetic drugs and cryptocurrency-based drug crime.

The event is supported by international partners: the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), and the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre (CARICC).

The Academy is leading the charge in implementing modern solutions for training law enforcement personnel. The seminar brings in partners from leading tech organizations like KazDream and Astana IT University. The training is practice-oriented, focusing on digital investigation, OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) methods, digital footprint analysis, and big data management.

Participants include law enforcement officers from five Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. These are professionals who actively fight drug crime in the digital space.

The Academy is solidifying its role as a regional educational hub where knowledge, experience, and technology converge to ensure public safety.
