From June 25 to 27, 2025, a three-day training seminar on combating synthetic drugs was held at the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was a joint effort with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), supported by the U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan.
The seminar’s goal was to enhance the skills of law enforcement officers. Participants learned how to identify precursors and equipment used for drug production and shared international expertise in this field.
Representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Security Committee, the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and other relevant agencies took part. Practical sessions, simulating real-world operational scenarios, were organized for the attendees.
A strong emphasis was placed on implementing modern technologies and effective detection methods. Such training events help strengthen the country’s capacity to fight synthetic drugs, improve inter-agency cooperation, and create an environment for productive knowledge sharing.
