On May 29, 2025, a meeting between Marat Seksembaev, Rector of the Academy, and representatives of the Council of Europe’s HELP in Central Asia project was held at the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Council of Europe was represented by Sergey Dikman, Head of the Innovation and Development Department, and Konul Gasymova, Project Coordinator.
The parties discussed current cooperation within the framework of the Council of Europe’s educational initiatives and prospects for further cooperation in key areas, in particular, digital security, combating cybercrime, parallel financial investigations, human rights protection, including combating torture and preventing violence against women.
Special attention was paid to the development of educational programs for future law enforcement officers, taking into account the fundamental principles of human rights protection, as well as the participation of Council of Europe experts in the preparation of these materials.
Priority areas include improving the level of professional training for officers, developing courses on the rule of law and human rights, and conducting training seminars and workshops.
At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed their interest in continuing the partnership dialogue and agreed to strengthen cooperation on a systematic basis.
