The rector of the Academy, Marat Seksembaev, took part in parliamentary hearings held in the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the development of legal education.
Speaking as a speaker, the rector highlighted the relevance of the topic under discussion in light of the implementation of the principle of “law and order” in the country and made proposals to improve the system of training future lawyers.
“There are problems with the weak theoretical and practical training of law school graduates. The Academy also faces this problem when recruiting students for professional training for service in law enforcement agencies. Against this backdrop, the issues of improving the quality of education in universities and strengthening a practice-oriented approach are becoming increasingly relevant,” said M. Seksembaev.
Among the initiatives announced are the development of educational and digital infrastructure with an emphasis on practical training for students, as well as the creation of conditions for improving the qualifications of teachers.
Separate attention was paid to the need to improve the effectiveness of student internships and the assessment of law students’ knowledge upon graduation from universities.
A constructive discussion took place during the hearings. Participants exchanged views on the issues and proposals raised, noting the need for joint efforts to improve the quality of legal education.
