The Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Corruption hosted a presentation of the results of an interdepartmental scientific study on the topic: “Sufficiency of evidence in criminal cases on asset recovery: theoretical and applied aspects.” The study was conducted by a team of authors from the Interdepartmental Research Institute of the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies.
The event was attended by the management and staff of the Pre-trial Investigation Service of the Anti-Corruption Agency, as well as representatives of the expert community.
The issue of returning illegally withdrawn assets remains a focus of attention for law enforcement agencies and requires effective legal mechanisms. The success of criminal investigations related to asset recovery largely depends on the quality of the evidence gathered. The presentation examined current approaches to assessing the sufficiency of evidence, its use in criminal cases, and international standards for evidentiary activities.
Particular attention was paid to analyzing the existing regulatory framework and ways to improve it. Participants discussed the need for interagency and international cooperation aimed at improving the effectiveness of work in this area.
The research results presented were highly praised by experts for their scientific validity and practical significance. The recommendations developed can be used in investigative and judicial practice, as well as in the development of regulatory acts.
The Law Enforcement Academy continues its active research activities aimed at improving criminal proceedings and increasing the effectiveness of the fight against corruption.
