The Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a binary class on “Conflictology” to mark the 10th anniversary of the Academy.
Kairat Darkebaevich and Nazm Mutallapovna Tulekeyev, founders and trainers of the Republican Public Association “International Mediation Centre”, were the guests of honor and keynote speakers.
The purpose of the event was to develop students’ competencies in the field of mediative dispute resolution and the application of empathy in conflict situations. The seminar took the form of a scientific discussion, during which the key directions and prospects for the development of the institution of mediation in Kazakhstan were discussed.
The participants touched upon issues of legal education, the specifics of the application of mediation in criminal proceedings, the achievement of compromise between the parties, the enforcement of mediation agreements, and liability for their violation.
Master’s students in the scientific and pedagogical field and the Academy’s teaching staff took part in the discussion. During the discussion, students were given recommendations that will be taken into account in their dissertation research. The importance of continuing to hold such events was also noted.
