Regional Seminar on countering cybercrime

A regional seminar on the topic has been completed at the Academy: “Features of the investigation of criminal cases of cybercrime: international cooperation, experience, status, tactics and problems” for representatives of the countries of the Central Asian region.

In addition to law enforcement and special agencies of Kazakhstan, employees of the Prosecutor’s offices of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took part in its work. The event also included experts from Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Georgia.

During the seminar, topical issues of countering cybercrime and international cooperation in the investigation of such cases were considered.

Experts shared their experience in collecting and analyzing digital evidence, the practice of working with open sources of information using the OSINT intelligence tool.

The issues of research of computers and mobile devices, as well as problems arising during computer-technical expertise were discussed.

The training event was organized by the Academy as the Basic Organization of the CIS States for Retraining and Advanced Training of Prosecutorial and Investigative Workers, with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Astana and the Regional Office of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Central Asia within the framework of the International Cooperation Network for Central Asia and the South Caucasus (CASC Network).
