The leadership of the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies met with the Regional Representative of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime in Central Asia, Ashita Mittal.
The UN Office is a long-standing partner of the Academy, with the support of which many events have been organized to improve the skills of law enforcement officers.
During the meeting, the main directions of further implementation of educational projects were touched upon.
For example, the prospects of holding scientific and training events this year on the problems of countering terrorism and extremism, drug and cybercrime, corruption and investigation of financial crimes were discussed.
An important topic on the agenda was the introduction of a training module dedicated to coordinating work with persons convicted of terrorist and extremist crimes, as well as highlighting the minimum standards of the rules for the treatment of convicts (Nelson Mandela Rules).
The interlocutors paid special attention to the Academy’s participation in the implementation of the UNODC Regional Program for Central Asia for 2022-2025, as a main partner.
The UN representative highly appreciated the results of the scientific and educational activities of the Academy, expressed interest in further development of cooperation and readiness for comprehensive assistance in the implementation of joint initiatives.
