The Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies, together with partners, continues a series of training events dedicated to the problems of combating human trafficking.
Since the beginning of the year, such events have been held by the Academy and the NGO “Daris Information and Advisory Center” in West Kazakhstan, Atyrau and Mangistau regions.
With the support of the OSCE Program Office in Nur-Sultan and the US Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan, round tables were held for government agencies and regional NGOs, as well as specialized training seminars for employees of regional prosecutor’s offices and police departments.
The main topic of the agenda was the issues of increasing the potential of interaction between civil society and state institutions in the fight against human trafficking.
Trainings were also held on the problems of improving the system of identification of victims of human trafficking and the specifics of the investigation of criminal cases in this category. Prosecutors and police officers trained in solving practical exercises on conducting investigative actions with victims and witnesses of the crime.
At the end of March, it is planned to hold a final event, where the best practices of combating human trafficking in the West Kazakhstan region will be summarized, recommendations and proposals for improving the mechanisms for countering these crimes will be announced.
