Meeting of the Criminological Forum (“Seitov Readings”)

An international Criminological forum dedicated to the memory of a prominent statesman and public figure, prosecutor of the Kazakh SSR Utegen Seitov was held online at the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies.

The forum was attended by more than 150 guests, including heads of law enforcement and government agencies, leading scientists of domestic and foreign law schools of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Ukraine, representatives of international and non-governmental organizations, practitioners.

In seven sections, the current results of interdepartmental scientific research conducted by the Academy on topical issues of law enforcement are considered.

In particular, they discussed ways to improve legislation and law enforcement practice on countering financial pyramids, optimizing the forms of pre-trial investigation, the effectiveness of measures of criminal legal impact, strengthening the human rights potential of prosecutorial supervision, detection and investigation of cybercrimes.

Following the results of the forum, recommendations were developed aimed at improving law enforcement activities and expanding cooperation in the scientific field.
