On the problems of public prosecutor’s supervision over the observance of labor rights of citizens

Topical issues of prosecutor’s supervision over the observance of citizens’ labor rights in the non-state sector became the main topic of the international round table organized by the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies.

It was attended by domestic and foreign scientists, representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office and regional Prosecutor’s offices, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, and territorial labor inspection departments.

The results of the research conducted by the Interdepartmental Research Institute of the Academy were discussed at the forum.

The main conclusion that the scientists made is that the current legislation, as well as the organization of control and supervision in the labor sphere, do not fully protect the rights of citizens. Such violations are particularly common in the private sector.

During the discussions, the main pain points of the legal regulation of labor protection and labor protection were touched upon. A broad exchange of views was held on strengthening supervision over the observance of citizens’ rights in the field of labor relations.

The participants of the meeting highly appreciated the research work of scientists.

As a result of the discussion, a set of recommendations was formed to improve the effectiveness of supervision and improve labor legislation.

In particular, it is recommended to strengthen the work of the authorized body, initiate legislative changes. The prosecutors were given recommendations on how to supervise the pre-trial investigation of this category of cases.

According to the results of the study, it is planned to issue a scientific and practical manual.
