The strengthening of organizational mechanisms and the development of cooperation in combating labor exploitation in Kazakhstan and other OSCE participating States were the focus of the international round table, which concluded its work in Nur-Sultan.
The event was organized by the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies in cooperation with the OSCE Program Office in Nur-Sultan.
The round table was attended by representatives of law enforcement agencies, non-governmental organizations and academia.
The participants noted the special relevance of the agenda, underlined the need for close cooperation and systematic work of the authorized bodies in the fight against modern slavery.
They also discussed the importance of developing common approaches to solving existing problems, which will contribute to improving the effectiveness of work on the prevention and detection of criminal acts.
Experts from Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan shared their experience in the field of combating human trafficking.
At the end of the forum, the participants recognized the need to use model laws to combat human trafficking and recommendations for the harmonization and unification of the national legislation of the participating states in this area, taking into account existing international standards in this area.
