The Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Zhakip Asanov met with members of the OSCE delegation led by the official representative of the OSCE to combat trafficking in human beings Madina Dzharbusynova.
A constructive conversation and exchange of views took place during the meeting on the current areas of cooperation of mutual interest.
The interlocutors expressed great satisfaction with the nature of the existing bilateral relations. They stressed the need to further maintain a high level of interaction between Kazakhstan and the OSCE on the most important aspects of strengthening international security.
The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of the prospects for cooperation within the Regional Hub on countering global threats. The head of the supervisory department expressed gratitude for the support and assistance in the promotion of the project by the OSCE.
Madina Dzharbusynova showed great interest in the activities of the Hub, noting the importance of using its potential to strengthen the fight against crimes related to human trafficking.
In this connection, an important agreement has been reached between the sides on the establishment on the Academy’s basis of a simulation centre for training law enforcement officers of Central Asian countries in counteracting human trafficking.
Noting the importance of this step in the context of human rights protection, Zhakip Asanov stressed the importance of simulation exercises for the training of qualified employees. Trainings develop skill to be guided in a difficult situation, to make the responsible decision, to develop “automatism” of correctness of professional actions.
The parties expressed confidence in the success of the project. It was generally agreed that the establishment of the centre would enhance the ability to monitor persons involved in crimes, and would facilitate to identify and provide assistance to potential victims of trafficking on time.
Head of the Academy Nail Akhmetzakirov made a speech with a presentation of key activities of the educational institution, as well as the Regional Hub.
Participants of the meeting confirmed their interest in further expanding and strengthening the spheres of interaction.
