Prosecutor General Kairat Kozhamzharov voiced the decision of CIS foreign ministers on giving the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the General Prosecutor’s Office the status of the basic organization for raising the level of skills and retraining personnel for the taxation (financial) investigations of the CIS member states.
The corresponding decision was made on April 6, 2018 in Minsk at a regular meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CIS.
The Prosecutor General noted that the new status will expand the educational institution’s capacity to exchange practical experience and knowledge between the fiscal bodies of the Commonwealth countries in the fight against economic crime.
In addition, it will also promote international scientific research for the creation and effective development of national systems for ensuring the economic security of the CIS member states.
Thus, a unified information and analytical database of the latest knowledge in the field of tax investigations will be formed, and the possibility of assisting the criminal prosecution authorities in attracting experts and specialists from the CIS will expand.
In this regard K. Kozhamzharov instructed the Academy to proceed with the approval of the relevant curricula, educational programs and the determination of the contingent of students.
The Academy was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on May 4, 2015 for training, retraining and conducting research in the field of law enforcement.
Since the establishment of the organization, about 3,000 Kazakhstani law enforcement officers and over 400 from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took advanced training courses.
