The Law Enforcement Academy under the Prosecutor General’s office held a practical training on negotiating skills in crisis situations.
The training was organized in the form of hostage-taking with the participation of employees of the Israel Embassy in one of the residential complexes of Astana.
During the lesson, prosecutors had a unique opportunity to see a concrete example of negotiating with persons in the capture of hostages.
The experts of the training were acting Israeli police negotiators with advanced experience in this area. They shared their experience of successful negotiations, tactics and methods of behavior during crisis situations.
Also, students involved in role-playing games. They acted as negotiators, thereby gaining valuable skills in the negotiation process.
It should be noted that the practice of law enforcement agencies firmly includes negotiations to prevent crimes in order to keep people safe and healthy, material and other values. A negotiation requires high professionalism of the employee, which is achieved by constant training.
A five-day training seminar for prosecutors was organized on the basis of the Law Enforcement Academy with the support of the Israel Embassy in Kazakhstan and the OSCE office of programs in Astana to improve professionalism in crisis management and negotiations in crisis situations.
