The Law Enforcement Academy, together with the United Nations Development Program in Kazakhstan, is participating in events for law enforcement officials on the prevention of gender-based violence within the framework of the project “Improving National Human Rights Mechanisms and Effectively Implementing the International Obligations of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Second Stage”.
The next seminar “Strengthening access to justice in the field of gender-based violence – effective perception, capacity building and mobilization of law enforcement agencies when working on the facts of gender-based violence” was held last week in Karaganda.
The training was attended by representatives of the Law Enforcement Academy, the Police, the Karaganda Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and non-governmental organizations.
The purpose of the training is to train power block employees in best international practices in qualifying and investigating facts of violence against women, and working with victims of all forms of gender-based violence.
Students were asked to solve case studies with real cases of sexual violence against women and minors in order to consolidate the knowledge gained.
According to the general opinion of the seminar participants, the training event will contribute to staff development, improvement of skills for the prevention and investigation of sexual crimes
