First stage of training in the digital investigation of cybercrime completed at the Academy

A professional development course entitled “Digital investigation of cybercrime” for prosecution service staff and investigators of the Financial Monitoring Agency has been completed at the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies.

A distinctive feature of the course was that investigators of the Financial Monitoring Agency were trained for the first time under an intermediate-level digital training programme. For prosecution service staff, the course was a continuation of the basic training they had previously completed.

During the sessions, participants refined their skills in identifying and analysing digital traces and in working with open sources and digital evidence, and practised algorithms for investigating cybercrime.

The practical component included the examination of training case studies closely modelled on real conditions, the analysis of digital data and the rehearsal of individual stages of an investigation.

The course marked a further step in the development of the Academy’s digital training system and in the expansion of professional training for law enforcement officers in the field of countering cybercrime.
