On 15 June 2026, a meeting was held at the Law Enforcement Academy under the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan with Yasham Chandra, Head of the Central Asia Regional Programme at the British Embassy in Dushanbe.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in combating financial crime, asset recovery, tackling cybercrime and developing the professional skills of law enforcement officers.
Aidos Mailybayev, Vice-Rector of the Academy, outlined the institution’s key areas of activity, including the work of the Regional Hub for Countering Global Threats in Central Asian Countries, the introduction of practice-oriented training methods, and the implementation of joint projects with international partners.
Particular attention was paid to issues relating to financial investigations, the analysis of cross-border financial schemes, the use of digital evidence and work with crypto-assets. The importance of training specialists proficient in modern analytical and digital tools was emphasised.
The parties explored opportunities for organising specialised training courses, expert consultations and other joint activities. Following the meeting, they reaffirmed their mutual interest in further developing their cooperation.
