The Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan is participating in the International Human Rights Forum in Istanbul, organised by the Turkic Judicial and Legal Training Network.
The event is also being attended by representatives of educational institutions from the member states of the Turkic Network: Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan. The programme was opened by the Chief Prosecutor of Istanbul, Fatih Dönmez, the President of the Turkish Academy of Justice, Metin Yildirim, and the Deputy Chairman of TIKA, Ali Erjan.
The three-day forum programme is dedicated to international human rights standards. Participants examined the UN human rights system, including the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, as well as key provisions of the European Convention on Human Rights: the procedure before the European Court of Human Rights and standards of fair trial.
As part of the forum, a bilateral meeting took place between the Rector of the Academy, Nurgalyma Abdirova, and the President of the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Turkey, Metin Yildirim.
The parties spoke highly of the existing partnership and noted the importance of joint participation in the Turkic Judicial and Legal Training Network as an international platform for exchanging experience and implementing joint educational projects.
