On October 1–2, 2025, in Petropavl, the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in cooperation with the OSCE Programme Office in Astana, held the tenth regional seminar for prosecutors from the North Kazakhstan Region.
During the seminar, participants discussed contemporary challenges related to investigating human trafficking offenses. Experts emphasized the importance of a victim-centered approach—prioritizing the protection of victims’ rights—and underscored the necessity of interagency cooperation.
The training program covered modern investigative methodologies, courtroom litigation tactics, and issues related to prosecutorial oversight throughout all stages of criminal proceedings. Over the two-day event, prosecutors enhanced their practical skills in applying innovative investigative techniques and developing effective courtroom prosecution strategies.
Specialized courses and seminars on combating human trafficking play a vital role in training prosecutors and establishing a unified approach to addressing this critical issue.
The Academy will continue its systematic efforts to develop such programs, aimed at strengthening professional standards and safeguarding human rights.
