Children’s Football Tournament at the Academy: Choosing a Life of Sport

Today, as part of the World Day Against Drug Abuse and the “Law and Order” campaign, the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a Rector’s Cup football tournament for children born in 2015-2016.

The competition brought together seven teams from the city of Kosshy: “Elit,” “FC Amana 1,” “FC Amana 2,” “SD Team,” “Prosportqosshy 2015,” “Prosportqosshy 2016,” and “Prosportqosshy 2017.” The young participants showed a real will to win, fair play, and team unity.

Welcoming the participants, the Vice-Rector of the Academy, Maralbek Yeshimov, emphasized that true strength lies in honesty, friendship, and the ability to say “NO” to bad habits. “Every pass, goal, and fair game you play is a vote for a healthy future,” he noted.

Kenneth Williamson, an advisor for the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, also highlighted the importance of such initiatives. He highly praised the Academy’s contribution to developing cooperation in countering drug-related crime and instilling strong values in the younger generation.

The tournament’s motto was: “We are against drugs — we are for sports and order!”

The main goal of the event was not only to develop mass children’s sports but also to build a strong immunity to bad habits in young citizens, fostering a desire for an active lifestyle and the choice of positive values.
