On June 10, 2025, representatives of the Law Enforcement Academy under the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan met with a delegation from the OSCE Secretariat’s Department for Countering Transnational Threats as part of the project “Capacity Building in the Fight Against Cybercrime in Central Asia: Phase II.”
The results of the previous stage were summarized: training events were held, national trainers were prepared, and a training center was established. Vice-Rector of the Academy Maralbek Yeshimov noted that the trained employees are already successfully applying their knowledge in investigating crimes involving cryptocurrencies.
The parties confirmed their interest in developing the partnership. The Academy proposed the introduction of a three-level training program in digital forensics, the launch of a laboratory with modern equipment, the integration of AI into the educational process, and the use of the Academy as a regional platform.
At the end of the meeting, OSCE representatives were awarded the Academy’s anniversary medal for their contribution to the development of cooperation. The parties agreed to continue working together in the field of countering cyber threats.
