The Academy hosted an international scientific seminar on criminal policy and human rights

The Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies hosted an international scientific seminar for master’s and doctoral students on the topic: “Criminal policy and human rights: analysis of contemporary approaches.”

The event was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and reflects the key guidelines of state policy aimed at strengthening the rule of law, ensuring law and order, and protecting human rights. During the seminar, special attention was paid to issues related to the implementation of the principles of justice and legal stability in the spirit of the “Law and Order” ideology.

Well-known domestic and foreign scholars delivered informative presentations. Among them were Vyacheslav Shabanov, Head of the Department of Criminalistics at the Faculty of Law of Belarusian State University, Doctor of Law, Professor, and Yuri Kozubenko, Professor of the Department of Judicial Activity and Criminal Procedure named after P.M. Davydov Department of Judicial Activity and Criminal Procedure at the Ural State Law University named after V.F. Yakovlev, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor Yuri Kozubenko.

The invited experts presented modern approaches to issues of criminal law and criminal procedure, discussed current problems of human rights compliance in the justice system, and identified priority areas for the development of criminal policy in the context of global challenges.

Young scientists, including master’s and doctoral students of the Academy, actively participated in the discussions, presented the results of their own research, and received valuable recommendations from experts for the further development of their scientific projects.

Holding such events contributes to strengthening scientific potential, developing academic cooperation, and promoting the principles of legal culture.
