First-hand account of prosecutorial oversight

The Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies hosted another meeting as part of an educational cycle aimed at deepening the professional training of students. The guest of the event was Erkin Taikeshov, Head of the Department for Oversight of Legality in Penitentiary Institutions of the 2nd Service of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, students received valuable information about the specifics of prosecutorial oversight of institutions with different levels of security. Particular attention was paid to the functioning of the penal system and current issues of prosecutorial response to violations of the law.

The speaker highlighted key aspects of ensuring the rights of convicts, interaction between prosecutors and the administration of institutions, as well as the organization of conditions of detention, daily life, and educational work. The open dialogue format allowed participants not only to ask questions that interested them, but also to receive practical recommendations firsthand.

Such meetings play an important role in forming a comprehensive understanding of the tasks and functions of the prosecution authorities, especially in the area of criminal punishment enforcement. The exchange of experience with practicing specialists contributes to strengthening the professional motivation of future prosecution employees and developing their law enforcement competencies.
