The Academy presented new scientific developments in the fight against financial crimes

The Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Financial Monitoring (AFM) hosted a presentation of scientific works by the Interdepartmental Research Institute of the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies. The event was attended by the management and staff of the Agency’s Investigation Department.

The research focused on the organization of pre-trial investigations of criminal cases related to the legalization of criminally obtained property, as well as the sufficiency of evidence in asset recovery. During the presentation, special attention was paid to the analysis of existing problems in law enforcement practice, issues of procedural independence of investigators, as well as the improvement of legislation in terms of judicial review of cases involving the legalization of property.

The research was highly praised by participants for its comprehensive and detailed approach. The materials presented contain practical recommendations aimed at improving the effectiveness of investigations and strengthening the evidence base.

The research results are recommended for use in the methodological and practical activities of the AFM’s investigative units.

The Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies continues to work on relevant scientific projects aimed at improving the justice system and strengthening the rule of law.
