The Academy held a charity event called “Suyikti Kitabym”

On the eve of the 10th anniversary of the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 25th anniversary of the SOS Children’s Village, employees of the Interdepartmental Research Institute, led by Vice-Rector Gulnar Shushikova, organized a charity event called “Suyikti Kitabym.”

During the event, Academy staff visited the SOS Children’s Village, where children without parental care live. The main goal of the event was to increase interest in reading, broaden the children’s horizons, instill respect for knowledge, and develop a sense of justice.

A discussion was held with the children about the benefits of reading, its impact on personal development, and making informed choices about life paths. More than 50 books were donated to the institution, including works of Kazakh and world classics, historical literature, and works on psychology and personal development. These included Abai’s Karasozderi, Abai’s Path, Saki, Nomads, works by Jules Verne and Arthur Conan Doyle, as well as popular motivational and educational literature. The children were particularly interested in the complete set of Harry Potter books, which confirms the importance of providing a variety of literature to support their interest in reading.

In addition to discussing literary works, the Academy staff touched on issues of legal education, the prevention of juvenile delinquency, and the importance of obeying the law. Such conversations help children understand their responsibility to society and the possible consequences of illegal actions.

The “Suyikti Kitabym” campaign became part of the nationwide “Birge Kitab Okyyk” movement, aimed at promoting domestic and foreign literature. The first participant in the initiative was Berik Uali, the akim of the Abai region.

The Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies will continue to implement socially significant initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of lawfulness, developing the intellectual potential of young people, and promoting their educational development. As Abai Kunanbayev said: “Only knowledge keeps a person alive, only knowledge moves the world forward! Only knowledge is the light of the heart!”
