Key issues of anti-corruption policy discussed at the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies

On February 12, 2025, a round table discussion initiated by the authorized body for combating corruption was held at the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The discussion focused on the implementation of the recommendations of the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) and GRECO (Group of States against Corruption).

Participants considered a wide range of topics related to strengthening Kazakhstan’s anti-corruption system, as well as the introduction of international standards and best practices in the fight against corruption.

Particular emphasis was placed on the presentation of methodological recommendations on “Specific issues in the investigation of criminal cases against persons enjoying privileges and immunity from criminal prosecution,” which are of practical importance for law enforcement agencies.

The round table was attended by representatives of the Supreme Judicial Council, the Central Election Commission, the Judicial Administration, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the National Security Committee, the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Financial Monitoring Agency, as well as the teaching staff of the Academy.

Following the discussion, specific proposals were formulated for further improving anti-corruption legislation and its effective application.
