The Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies in cooperation with the OSCE Program Office in Astana on the basis of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University on November 4 held an international scientific and practical conference “Topical issues of law enforcement” dedicated to the memory of the Prosecutor of the Kazakh SSR U.S. Seitov.
The conference consisted of a plenary session and 8 sections. It was attended by the Commissioner for Human Rights, representatives of the Presidential Administration, Parliament, Supreme Court, Supreme Judicial Council, Prosecutor General’s Office, Anti-Corruption Agency, Ministries of Internal Affairs and Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as leading domestic and foreign scientists of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Ukraine, representatives of international and non-governmental organizations.
At the plenary session, the conference participants noted the personal contribution of the leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Academy to the development of legal science in Kazakhstan, the importance and relevance of ongoing research on problematic issues of law enforcement.
The sections discussed scientific research on the general legal principles of criminal procedure, the legal status of the prosecutor in Kazakhstan and CIS countries, the identity of the criminal, prevention of juvenile delinquency, ensuring public safety, reintegration of persons released from prison, financial investigation institutions and private bailiffs.
Following the results of the conference, a number of recommendations were developed and further expansion of cooperation in the scientific field was proposed.
