The third national simulation training “Combating Human Trafficking on Migration Routes” has started its work on the basis of the Central Asian Regional Information Coordination Center for Combating Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Precursors (CARICC).
The training was organized by the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies at the Prosecutor General’s Office together with the Karaganda and Almaty Academies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Academy of the Border Service of the KNB, CARICC, with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Astana, the US Embassy in Kazakhstan and WinrockInternational.
The event is attended by over a hundred representatives of law enforcement and government agencies, as well as NGOs and international organizations.
The format of the simulation exercise involves the creation of conditions and situations as close to real as possible.
During the week, participants will master practical skills in identifying victims of crimes, providing assistance to victims, conducting operational investigative measures, and identifying persons involved in illegal human trafficking within the given scenarios.
In accordance with the instruction of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on strengthening the fight against drug trafficking, the training program includes issues of suppressing the facts of exploitation of people in clandestine laboratories, as well as coercion to transport narcotic drugs across the state border.
The training will end on September 23.
